MOUNTAIN LAKES VACATION RENTALS
is a fully licensed brick and mortar vacation rental management company representing privately owned vacation
rental homes on Lake Keowee in South Carolina and on Lake Hartwell in both
Georgia and South Carolina. We offer a complete range of vacation
accommodations. Most are used routinely by their owners, all are air conditioned and come with a
boat dock unless otherwise specified. Linens, cooking utensils, and the final
cleaning are provided. Although many of our houses are pet friendly (with an extra
charge) others do not allow pets. Please confirm before bringing pets.

accommodate larger groups in multiple houses.
MOUNTAIN LAKES is an independent privately owned locally based company. Vacation rentals
are
our only business, not our hobby or second job. We do not buy or sell
property and are not affiliated with any realty or time share company. We are members of
most tourism organizations and chambers of commerce that serve our area.

Why Rent Your Vacation Home From Mountain Lakes?
Fair & Consistent Descriptions: Most descriptions and
pictures were prepared directly by us and all meet strict guidelines for fair
representation. With over 60 houses
available we want your choice to be based on what is best for you, not the skill of
a
photographer. If time permits, we can show you
up to three houses before you make a decision. Or talk
to our staff and tell them what you want. Our agents will listen to your needs
and recommend options
that suit you rather than trying to force a square peg into a round
hole.
Prices - Always
Equal or Lower: Find the same house
available the same dates, advertized at a lower price, show us the ad and
we will match it. We accept any standard form of payment including most major
credit cards. Always be wary of prices quoted on the internet that seem "Too
good to be true":
Cleaning Fees: Most rentals "By Owner" add a cleaning fee of
$50-$150, with Mountain Lakes the cleaning is always included.
Sales Tax: Both Georgia and South Carolina place the burden of
paying Sales and Accommodations Taxes on you, the consumer, whether or not they
are collected by the Cabin Owner. Mountain Lakes always collects and pays these
taxes so you don't have to. These taxes range from 7% to 11% depending on
location.
Rental Guarantee: At Mountain Lakes we automatically guarantee our
rentals and you don't pay any extra fee. (One popular Owner site offers to
"Protect Your Rental Payments", if
you sign up for the guarantee in advance and pay a fee of $19 to $49.)
Other Charges: Some have agencies and/or owners have an extra
charge for just about everything. Some even charge extra to furnish linins. With
Mountain Lakes there are NO hidden charges
No Fault Satisfaction Promise:
Should you arrive and
find that the home you chose it is not right for you for any reason,
we will arrange for you to transfer to another available home with no moving
charges. All we ask is that you call us within 2 hours of your arrival. Not only do we want you to rent
from us, we want you to return year after year.
Call us for service 24 / 7: Feel free to call us. Our office is open 9-2
Tuesday - Friday and 10-2 on Saturday. Our
locally staffed answering service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Your call will be answered by a live, local person,. not a recording,
not someone in India, Florida, or Atlanta, BUT a live person
that lives in the Hartwell, Keowee area. If you are having a problem, our
service department will be paged immediately. A local contact with local
knowledge helps provide safety and security not available from someone 500 miles
away. If you
have a question or problem, call us any time night or day.
100% Absolute Guarantee (No separate insurance policy
required): What if the A/C, Plumbing or something
else major goes out? We carefully inspect your rental prior to your
arrival but things can happen beyond our control. When they do, our staff is usually able to
resolve the problem in a
few hours. If we do need to call an outside service person, the contractors we
use generally place our requests at the top of their priority list since we manage
several houses. If, for some
reason, we can not fix the problem in a reasonable period of time we will
arrange for you to move to an equivalent or better house at the same price as
your original house. If nothing satisfactory is available, we promptly
provide a refund.
Licensed Business Since 1993:
We are a professional Vacation Rental company licensed by the
SC State Real Estate Commission. All funds are held in an Escrow
account until the rental is satisfactorily completed. Your credit card and
contact information is safe with us. We do not sell or give out your information
to anyone. You will not be inundated with phone calls, e-mails, or junk mail. We are not Real Estate Sales Agents and will not try to sell you a
house, time share or anything else. We
concentrate on providing you the best vacation possible whether it is for a
month, week, or weekend.

is conveniently located
in the Southeastern US on the Georgia -
South Carolina line at I-85 only 2 hours from downtown Atlanta, Georgia, 2 hours from
Charlotte, NC, and 1 hour from Greenville, SC. Hartwell
Lake is one of the largest of the lakes in Georgia or South
Carolina. Numerous Recreation Areas
add to your family vacations by
providing public access to 962 miles of shoreline and 56,000 acres of some of the best boating and
bass fishing in the southeast.

LAKE KEOWEE is primarily in Oconee County,
SC near: Seneca, Salem, Clemson,
Walhalla and Westminster, South Carolina (All less than 10 miles from Keowee
Lake). Highlands, Cashiers, Sapphire, and Brevard, North Carolina are all within
30 miles. Keowee Lake provides a cooling reservoir for
Duke's Oconee Nuclear Station and features 18,500 acres of "blue" water, 300 miles of shoreline,
and great
views of the Blue Ridge mountains. Full pool elevation is 800' msl. Maximum
depth is 297' and the average depth is 54'.
